George Washington Carver School in Purcellville

See Purcellville Page, which covers all colored schools in Purcellville, Loudoun, Va.

Carver was built in 1948 as the first modern elementary school for African-American children in Loudoun, then closed in 1968, following integration, to become a school storage facility

The Carver Alumni Association http://www.carveralumni.net/ has also preserved much of the Carver School history. Please come check out this history at the Carver Center library in Purcellville. #AdvisoryBoardofCarverCenter
