Loudoun County Schools

Re:. Douglass Elementary School
Dear Mr. Bussinger:
Transmitted herewith is a print of the revisions and
additions to the DouBlass Eleneentary School. Copies of
this have been forwarded to the State Board of Education
for their approval.
The contractor has ca11ed to our attention that he has
not included in his price any of the water line outside
the building.
He is counting on it being installed by
the city ot owner. I can get a price on it from hirn if
you
desile.
Rock has been encountered in the excavations for the fourclassroom wing. It necessitated excavation of 27 cu. yds.
of rock for footings which was quoted in the original bid
at $fZ per yard, making $AZ+.OO extra. I might note,
however, that there is a $gOO credit due the school board
from the omitted sewer force main (See paragraph 3 of
our letter of February 2O, 1958.) and the contractor is
willing to balance one against the other.
Another iten he has cal1ed to our attention is that in our
letter of February 24, to you an error was made which
short changed htn $200. The figures should have totaled
$92a2.00 instead of $gs3z. Possibly it would be easi.est
to redo the contracts to make this correction.
Very truly yours,
-lC/d;z-,
Earl
