Dear lir. Reby!
I have your letter in which you ask the intention of the School
Board in reference to the continued use of the Baptist Chureh room at
¥jddleburg for & school rooms We have very definitely in mind that some
room in sddition to the present school house should be used for one
teacher until a new bullding is erected at Middleburgs There have been
no definite plans in reference to this metter for next year s0 I ecan not
answer your guestion specificallys
in reference to the questlon of & school lot a site 1n the west
end of liddleburg was gelected and approved by me. So ruch opposition
gesthe location of the schoolst thls polint was developed that there 1s
no hope of purchasling the 1ot either directly from the owner or to exer-
clse the right of eminent domaine Ve are 1ooking for another lot.
1 note specificelly that you stote,"It seems to me that the cone
geattfincofii%tipn at Middleburg could be relleved by the next school
term." Apfifi?gfitly you do not fully appreciete the problems involved in
puilding & school bullding in a country sectlon in war times. 1 beléoeve
that I can stete definitely thet there will bet be 2 now school building
at Middleburg ab the opeing of school naxtyrall; It is our purpose and
1ntention to purchese & 1ot et Middleburggand to erect a school tuilding
thereohs Fr
: 1 8 the
we are endeavoring et the present time to secure an incresse on
tax rete of ten cents on the nhundred dollars for the purpose of setting
up funds sufficient to take care of this and other projects in the Countye
' ~ gis net I think
I want to express myself very | 1tively to the effect the
the opposition 1flpreference to the” of the room ab Middleburg as not o
being very reasonable because 1 do not think the room endangers the healt
of the children.
