With a deep interest in the spiritual welfare of the
youth of
Loudoun County,and that the several forms of so called amusements
sponsored by our public schools should not conflict with instruction for
Christian living as taught in the Sabbath schools of our different
" ehurches;therefore be it
"Resolved,That we do hereby respectfully request that all bridge
games and promiscuous dancing be excluded from all graded and high schools, "
grounds for réquest:
I. That these amusements are given without the consent of a large number
of taxpayers.
2, That pupils whose parenté»object to forms of worldly amusements given
by the classes of which pupils‘are'members are embarrassed.
3, That it is inconsistent to practice in our public schools that which
is condemned by Christian teachers in the Sabbath schools of our churches.
4, That these two forms of amusements are excluded from the public
schools in other counties of our state.
5. That ministers having children in school are embarrassed.
6. That many Christian people of our churches condemn such amusements as
