Hon. O. L. Emerick,
Superintendent of Schools,
Purcellville, Virginia
My dear Mr. Emerick:
I beg to acknoledge receipt of your letter
of October 4th which you hove addressed to the Scnool
Board, and in which you say that the diftriculty at Waterford
involves both Mr. Wessells and myself,
I kxnow of no charge pending against me for any
cause whatever, and I therefore, cannot consent to become
the subject of criticism and attack before tne School Board
when charges against another teacher are being investigated.
Surely you will appreciate the fact that every person whose
conduct is attacked is entitled to know the nature and
character of the charges made against her, as well as the
names of those by whom they are made, and then a reasonable
time and epportunity to prepare to answer them snould be
accoxted her. I do not consider that I am today on trial
before your Board.
