DESIGN: Semi-automatic, rack-type dishwashing unit, with
two doors counterbalanced for straight-through operation.
CONSTRUCTION: Tank and wash chamber constructed
of 16 gauge stainless steel, internally welded, # 4 polish
outside with satin finish. Welded steel frame and base with
sanitary, adjustable legs.
PUMP: With Ni-Resist impeller, integral with motor, assures
perfect alignment and quiet operation. Newly designed
packless seal with stainless steel parts and a ceramic sealing seat (no stuffrng box). Easily removable front and end
plates to permit ease of inspection. Capacity 175 gallons
per minute. Pump is self-draining.
MOTOR: Hobart-built, 1 H.P., grease-packed ball bearing,
drip proof design, ventilated. Single phase is repulsion-
start, induction-run type. Three phase is polyphase,
squirrel cage, induction type. Not available in direct current.
WASH: Hobart revolving wash arms with unrestricted openings-double end jets-above and below .dishes provide
thorough distribution of water streams at all angles. Arms
are easily removable for cleaning without the use of tools.
Manifold connecting upper and lower spray systems of
stainless steel tubing.
RINSE: Readily removable wing-type rinse sprayers above
and revolving rinse arms (which can be removed without
the use of tools) below. Rinse arms feature curved ends,
providing maximum efEciency. Rinse controlled by solenoid
valve (mounted outside machine). Machine equipped with
vacuum breaker on down-stream side of rinse valvemounted 6ll above uppermost rinse opening.
stainless seat installed on up-stream
side of rinse line vacuum breaker.
FILL: Fill valve with
TIMED CONTROL*: Electric timing device installed in
special box on side of machine with single pushbutton
control. Electrical timing device so arranged that total
cycle must be completed.
DRAIN AND O\/ERFLOW: Tank equipped with automatic, bell-type overflow with "lift-off" cap and externally
controlled drain valve, constructed of Ni-Resist and stainto eliminate the possibility of sticking, binding, or corroding.
STRAINER PANS: Entire tank area covered by easily removable, stainless steel, perforated, strainer pans.

AUTOMATICALLY CONTBOLTED WASH,
DWELL AND BINSE OPERATIONS...
Time-controlled dishwashing machines are not new-in fact
Hobart pioneered this field in 1937-but completely time-controlled machines, priced within the average kitchen budget,
ate new. Hobart now brings you the Model AM-AT, which
eliminates the human element in washing, dwelling, and
rinsing. Electrically controlled timing operations supplant
hand-controlled methods, supervision is reduced, and consistently good results are attained. The operator slides the
rack of soiled dishes into the unit, closes the doors, and then
energizes the timing circuit by means of the single pushbutton control. The automatic cycle is started and continues
for 65 seconds. This automatic cycle cannot be interrupted
until the completion of the cycle.
The timing device energizes the magnetic wash-motor
starter and assures a 48-second wash-wash motor is then deenergized-an established S-second dwell follows (permitting
the upper wash manifold to drain)-the electric rinse valve
for 12 seconds. At the end ofthis 65-second
cycle, the entire circuit is de-energized, and the timer automatically re-sets for the next cycle. The doors are then reopened and the completely sanitized rack of dishes removed.
This timer mechanism may be adjusted to lengthen the rinse
is then energized
time from 12 seconds up to and including 19 seconds-which
shortens the wash time by the number of seconds of increase
in the rinse time, thereby maintaining the over-all time of
65 seconds.
The unit is provided with a manually operated auxiliary
circuit (enclosed within the timing box) which can be used in
case of timer failure. This superior design permits temporary
manual operatian in case of timer failure during the busy hours.
