" TO THE HON. O. L. EMERICK,SUPERINTENDANT, AND MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD
~OF LOUDUNC COUNTY, VIRGINIA:
Wejthe undersigned citizens of Louduvun County, hereby respectfully pray
"f your Hon. Board to build and establish a suitable up-to-date High Schodl
“4mBuilding and maintain therein an accredited High School for the benefit
of the colored children of our said County.
It is our information that y ur Honerable Board is now maintaining
Public Schools for the accomodation of our colored children and we believe
e
that our race is justly entitled to at least one High 3chool in the

County to be .located in the discretion of your Honorable Board.
wAfter passing through the said Public Schools we are now compelled to send
our children out of the County for a complete High School education.
We propose fl;_private contributions to raise all the funds that we cafi -
whiq? we believe will not be inconsiderable -- and, as we are informed,
there are otherm sources of aid such as the Rosenwald and other funds
fof this purfiose which need, of course, to be supplemented by an appropri-
ation by your Board out of the Public Funds. Believing that this reduést
