Division Superintendant
County School Board
Loudoun County
Leesburg, Virginia.
Dear Mr. Emerick:
I have in my possession a letter dated March 1, 1945, in which-
was addressed to Mrs. Mildred Jackson, president of the PTA
of Middlesburg, Virginia,
In the first paragraph of your letter you stated that the
school board denied the request of the PTA; that is, the dis-
continuance of the Baptist Church basement at Middlesburg for
a school room. Please advise me if the basement is to be used
for an indefinite time or is it the intention of the school
board that this basement be used just for the duration of the
school term. If you will explain this to me then I think we can
have a better understanding concerning the use of that basement
which has caused much cogigntion.
A resolution was adopted at a meeting held by the school board
on January 31, 1945, that a committee would be appointed
from the PTA to work in conjunction with 2 committee from the
scheool board for the purpose of purchasing a lot for the school
board. With this in mind, it seems to me that the congested
conditions at Middlesburg could be releived by the next school
term and I would appreciate a statement from yvou with reference
to whether or not such lot has been purchased or if there has
been any definite site selected,
