* such could be foubd. A committe representing the P. T. As came to our
eting and they are trying to assist us in finding e place in whikh to
rry on the work temporarily. The senses of the school Board is thet a

w school she@dd be provided for about 160 children around Ste Louis end

cepdfnty that we can find someone for the position at Middleburg but

M«a*auw seem & more desirable location and it should be possible to find
eacher,

The school board oounwmamon the request for transportation for certain
trons but took no action because they had no facilitles with which to
ke care of this area, "

I might point out that our school board has had in effect for s number
years this policy: whenewws a school was closed trensportation wes pro=-
ded by bus for the school area and as many chlldren in nearby areas were
commodated as the bus could include. That has epplied uniformly to white
d colored children. The main difference fe that only four colored
hools have been closed under this condition and many more white schools
ve been closed. Many of the persons of this County cleimed thet this was
unuwaa»stWw ageinst them in the case of closing thelr schools Ve have a
mber of a both white and colored whildren are rather far from school.
e school board has adopted & provision that 1t will essist financlally with
e transportation in these areas but that it skould be necessary for the
rents to srrenge for the transportation. We sare making these peyments by
vy of agsistance in several areas to both white and colored patrons,
