5.6 Textbooks

Background

One of our goals is to identify which textbooks were provided by the School Board for Black students in the segregated system and whether they were different from books used by whites. This page constitutes the beginning of that study. The plan is to eventually buy a copy of each for the Edwin Washington Research Center so that contemporary generations can see what their ancestors used.
