7.7.1 Gifted Children

There was outreach for both white and African-American gifted children.

 

  • March 8, 1948.   Memo to teachers to provide aid to the exceptionally bright child.  See 4.8(D) Adelaide Dale.
  • December 15, 1949.   Request to distribute to all elementary school teachers a report called “Teacher’s Record of Exceptional Children.”   This was a set of questions covering topics taught and conditions in the classroom.  See 4.8(D) Adelaide Dale.
  • November 2, 1955.   Workshop Results, Marshall Street Community Center.  “What can be done about problem and gifted children.”   See also Memo of 28 Nov 1955 in 4.1 Circulars to Teachers (1955-56)
  • March 10, 1956.  Workshop Results at Douglass High School, Theme, the Gifted Child, George Washington, University, Washington, DC.  This was the sixth workshop of the year for the Loudoun County Teachers (colored).
