Documents 1952 1953[1] 1952/53 Mental Hygiene. List of children in Mental Hygiene Clinic. Covers white and colored students from Aldie, Arcola, Ashburn (w), Ashburn (c), Douglass Grade School, Bluemont, Carver, Hamilton, Leesburg, Lincoln Grade School, Lovettsville, Lucketts, Middleburg, Purcellville, Sterling, Waterford and the Winchester area. This is a particularly sensitive folder, which should not be shown to the public, only experts, because the it lists the names of children being treated un the Mental Hygiene movement, in other words, children that were considered suffering from some form of mental illness.[2]
7.7.3 Alternative school program, which covered troubled teenagers and handicapped children. Includes program at Douglass. Material dates from 1974; so clearly added after lost records were recovered.
