- 1924 (July 8): The School Board authorized the Chairman and Clerk of the Board to renew an outstanding loan for Mt Gilead District. We don’t know if this benefited colored schools. That’s TBD with further research. For C.I. Thomas – $2,000 for 2 years from August 18, 1924. For Carrie C. Emerick $2,000 for 2 years from August 3, 1924. For W.W.
