In the seventh grade we continue the study of notea.-»_w
tpreble and bass, key signatures, scale writing, syllable sinsiag, "
sight reading, and writing melodies from dication. In addition |
to the foregoing wechanics of music, we study composers (one
euch .onth). All upper grade groups sing patriotic selections,
hymns and seasonal sSongs. Wwe do two part singing and occasionally
three part. In the upper grades we have an enthusiastic tonette
band of thirteen members, which is doing two part playing with
piano accompaniment. we feel that this has been of great value
in teaching tiwme, sight reading, and team work.

reels, and sguare danciEEL
In addition to this comprehensive course in school musiec,
private piano lessons are available to the students. ITwelve
pupils have taken advantage of this opportunity and are doing
good work playing for group singing and taking part on programns.
We [eel deeply grateful to our teacher, uiss Elizabeth
Chamblin, who works tirelessly to bring out the pest in each
child. I also want to give credit to my teachers who have been
most cooperative in keeping the interest alive from day to day.
