On March 20, 1945, a letter addressed to the Loudoun County School Board from the County-Wide League outlined immediate needs in the Negro schools of Loudoun County. The letter, signed by President J.W. Wanzer and Secretary Mrs. E. Sandford, advocated for decreased teacher grade loads through school consolidation with adequate transportation, as well as increased supplies, equipment, and curriculum offerings. Specific needs included buildings repairs, supplies, additional teachers, and transportation services. The league also expressed support for equal opportunities and facilities for Negro students.
