Tate School Colored
Research as of 11/24/14
Research Questions:
- Tate was a Freedmen’s school started by Quakers in Loudoun.
- Was Tate the start of the Philomont or Greggsville schools? Were they the same school, just under different names?
- There is evidence that seven Blacks received higher branch schooling here. What that means is undefined; but must be 8th and up grades.
Tate was also known as Lincoln Colored School. See Lincoln for its history.
